MoveFTT FAQs

How do I log my activities?

Great question. Super easy but pay attention because there are changes in 2026. 

  • Go to moveftt.org after you complete your activity, 
  • Select “log my activity” 
  • The first time logging, you’ll need to create a portal, then it will remember you after that.
  • Add the date, activity, distance and hit submit. That’s it!

Please note: As we transition to an inhouse Dashboard, auto connection to smart devices is NOT possible. We will keep the MoveFTT Strava club, but you must log your activity. 

The bonus to this is that it creates accountability and pride in your daily mile!

When do I log my activity?

Best Practice: As soon as you complete the activity so it’s done and easy. If you use a smart watch. Hit stop, then go to moveftt.org and input the results.

Logging is entirely up to you, but it won’t show up on the dashboard or your team board until you submit it. Another consideration: submit your miles by every Sunday so it counts for the weekly status updates.

I'm on Strava - Do I need to log my miles?

YES! Your activities will only go into the dashboard if you log them at moveftt.org. So glad you're in the Strava Club! This is our community space but for 2026 it does NOT link to the dashboard. Thanks for understanding as we advance moveFTT experience with the Dashboard. We just don't have the funds to do the Strava integration. If you know a coder that is open to donating some time to bring integration back in 2027, please reach out to us at wemove@fortheirthoughts.org

NEW IN 2026: Activity Logging Simplified to website / Smart Devices do NOT connect

With the transition to an in-house dashboard, all logs must be manual at moveftt.org. It takes seconds and allows all data to feed to the dashboard. Yes, we’ll still host the Strave MoveFTT community but your activities do NOT automatically load. They must be input daily (or by every Sunday)

NEW IN 2026: The MoveFTT Dashboard!

Beginning in 2026, you no longer have to wait for the Tuesday emails to see how your team is doing, who has a perfect streak or who has moved the most. In 2026, we are piloting our first in-house dashboard with live (ish) feed. (It may take up to 24 hrs for the data to populate and it’s only as good as the activity submitted.

What if I forgot to log a day?

No problem!!!  Go to moveftt.org, select log activity and select the correct date and submit. You can always submit for completed activities. You just can’t submit for future activities.

We got you! Go to the homepage, scroll to the dashboard and search for your name ONLY - your records will show.

Where do proceeds go?

100% of proceeds supports FTT mission to elevate dementia awareness, health literacy and the families impacted today.  Program support includes:  direct caregiver relief, custom care navigation, and our high impact, hands-on education. With your help, we ensure FTD/dementia families feel seen, heard and not alone!

What kind of activity counts?

Are you the motor? Then it counts! We are "move-clusive!!"

Walk, run, bike, swim, stand up paddleboard, dance, play a sport... etc.

For non-mile activites: 20min = 1 mile and that is how you log it on Activity Log. f

BONUS if you can move OUTSIDE - did you know getting outside boosts your mood, supports eyesight and stimulates your brain??

Can I form a team?

YES!  You sure can! Select "Create a team" when signing up, create a name and tell everyone you want to invite to your team.

Minimum of 4 per team, if you can. For two-fers, we may need to merge you with the greater MoveFTT Team.  

Teams have a over 80% success rate of completing daily miles versus going solo. A team is a great way to connect with friends and family.

Can I do more than a mile?

Absolutely!!! One mile is the minimum, however we encourage you to push yourself (within what is safe and comfortable).

Can I stack up multiple miles and have them count toward days I don’t move?

No. This is a consistency challenge. The intent is to get us all moving every day.

How do I convince people to sponsor me/donate?

When you're talking about why you are fundraising, make sure you speak personally. People are chipping in, because this cause is important to you. Tell a personal story about why you've taken this incredible step to fundraise for us.

How can I help meet the fundraising goal?

Thank you for being part of the MoveFTT mission!

  1. As a mover, you can share the fundraiser on SM or email but hitting the "share" button on the home page! Or tell a friend to go to moveftt.org and select "sponsor my friend."
  2. Drop-In Pass - New in 2026 - join for a day or a few days -- This is a great way to honor a loved one or friend, do something for yourself and help us raise awareness without the full commitment. Click the "drop in pass" and join us! (Note - drop-in pass miles is not connected to the Dashboard in 2026)
  3. Sponsorship Opportunities - you can sponsor a day where you match miles in honor of a loved one and/or showcase your business. Share pledge cards at your place of business or choose a premium sponsor level. Click on the sponsor tab to learn more or contact us at wemove@fortheirthoughts.org
